Hey, I love gloomy, rainy Portland already and I've only ever spent 4 days there...you're just mad because I didn't choose Colorado. It was a toss up between the two if it makes you feel better. Oregon has a coast and I've never lived more than 2 hours from an ocean so it won naturally, I need the humbling sea every now and then it disperses the agony in the self.
Don't worry, you'll be in gloomy, rainy Portland soon enough.
